Whether President Barack Obama, Mitt Romney or anyone else wins the next United States presidential election or the India / Pakistan arms race occurs with missile launch tests, unemployment is a more important daily reality faced by working and transition career professionals around the world.

In the latest Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report from the U.S. Department of Labor in the week ending April 14, 2012 the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 386,000.  This is a decrease of 2,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 388,000. Bottom line: Unemployment insurance marginally covers the very minimal bread and butter basics of running a household people require: food, shelter and clothing.  What’s a person to do to maintain a family life style when all members become accustomed to it?

From 5 member goals proven to set the stage for a life time career management plan, Empowering Today’s Professionals Goal #4: Develop multiple sources of income, provides the best unemployment insurance.

After landing a job to secure a SINGLE primary source of income, running a career as a business owner being the CEO of ME, Inc. dictates developing addition income.  In the 21st century jobscape, this business strategy is crucial to survive the new global economy.
