The other 1/3 is composed of people whose entire life has been in the commercial world with the same need.

Therefore the group’s primary function is to facilitate interactions between Veterans seeking jobs and employers hiring or those who are in turn facilitating the process of employing our nation’s heroes.

www.FedsHireVets.gov is a critical component of the Federal Government’s strategy for the recruitment and employment of Veterans.  On November 9, 2009, President Barack Obama signed Executive Order 13518, Employment of Veterans in the Federal Government, which establishes the Veterans Employment Initiative. The Initiative is a strategic, yet very straightforward, approach to helping the men and women who have served our country in the military find employment in the Federal Government. It also underscores the importance of aligning the talents of these individuals with key positions so the Government is better positioned to meet mission objectives and citizens are better served.
